- Summarize the approach for laboratory testing following a known exposure to HCV
Surveillance for acute hepatitis C plays an important role in identifying trends in transmission patterns and in identifying outbreaks of acute hepatitis C infection. The CDC site Guidelines for Viral Hepatitis Surveillance and Case Management provides information related to surveillance for hepatitis A, B, and C.Instructions
1. Scroll down until you see heading Acute Hepatitis C.
2. Note what is required to meet the definition for a Confirmed case of acute hepatitis C.
3. Scroll down the page to Table VI and view the Components of Acute Hepatitis C Investigation.
